What happens in Springfield stays in Springfield!
After all he is a nuclear power plant control room operator, I think that he would be making 100K+ a year easily. What are your comments on this? I think he should be living it up in a sick house with a pool and driving a lexus instead of that crappy pink car.
Mr. Burns is a cheapskate. He’s not paying anyone one penny more than he has to. Homer doesn’t have a lot of job options.

I think he does make a lot, because in one ep. Frank Grimes was talking about how big his house is and stuff.

besides, How did Homer get to work at a nuclear power plant anyway?
And how come he hasn’t gotten fired? After all, he’s almost caused multiple meltdowns (at least three) and has caused multiple other minor radiation-based disasters, all of which Mr. Burns has noticed.
It also seems that Homer lies about going to work a lot or flatout misses work… It’s suprising he has’nt gotten fired for all of those things, but I guess Mr. Burns really doesn’t keep track of his workers very much and is more into counting his money… or it could be that the show has had 400+ episodes, and finding new things to happen to Homer and his family becomes a problem.
They must get enough income for such a house, and two cars, and maintaining a house of five, with two pets, and keeping Grandpa in his retirement home… and supporting Homer’s drinking. He also buys a lot of useless stuff
He is rich but remember Moe’s.
Well, he doesn’t really do much, actually. He sits around and probably eat’s 100k’s worth of donuts a year, so it all adds up.
