What was the music played in this Simpsons ...

Today, I was watching “The Simpsons”. It was was the episode when Milhouse thought his parents were died when they fell of the cruise ship. There was a scene when two men were driving to Springfield to deliver the news that Milhouse’s parents were missing. There was music playing in that scene and it sounded very familiar to me. I know it was from a movie. I assume it is from “Saving Private Ryan”, but I’m not sure.

So, if you know, could you tell me if I’m right or wrong? And if I’m wrong, could you tell me where it’s from? Thanks.

Hmmm…as far as I know all music for the Simpsons is composed for the show.

You’re right, it’s the same music from Saving Private Ryan, where Mrs. Ryan is informed of the death of her sons. It’s “Adagio for Strings”.
