we are watching the simpsons and his mom called him Barthalmew J. Simpson we were wondering what the “J” stood for.

I think it is the same as Homer…which is Jay…that came out in the espisode in which Homer discovered that his mom was still alive.

In the episode where homer’s mom is a hippie and she’s back homer finds out what the “J” stands for, he moves a bush to reveal his real middle name and it’s JAY. And in earlier older episodes his name is mentioned as BARTHOLOMEW JAY SIMPSON. Like his father HOMER JAY SIMPSON.
