the simpsons fam: marge is the attractive wife of the drunk fat man homer. she has a really annoying voice.
the family guy fam: Lois is the attractive wife of the drunk fat man peter. she also has a really annoying voice.

There are a lot. Not only the ones you have mentioned about the family aspect of it, but also just ideas for shows that the Simpsons did way before Family Guy:
Here are a few:
1) Simpsons: Lisa attempts, and succeeds, at making Groundskeeper Willy into a sophisticated gentlemen.
1) Family Guy: Stewie attempts to make the little girl act proper to win a bet with Brian.
2) The Simpsons kids get taken away because of Grandpa Simpson
2) Stewie gets taken away because of Meg
3) Santa’s little helper (the simpsons dog) becomes a police dog and goes bad
3) Brian (The griffins dog) becomes a police dog and goes bad
first, the dad is fat and drunk. second, they both have a mom that is responsible. third, they have a daughter and son. fourth, they have a dog.
I really can’t think of anything else besides they both have a baby.
I personally think Family Guy is better, even though the Simpsons is a classic.
