No, The Simpsons was never meant to be a show for the whole family. and by that I mean little kids. I actually thought it was kind of funny.
In fact, they curse a lot in there episodes….like homer and bart both say damn it a lot. plus B**ch comes up a few times and A** as well. There are a lot of other reasons they are not a family show as well

The Simpsons is NOT a family comedy. It is a PG13 at best series for the entertainment of mature audiences.
Since the origin of the series 19 years ago, it has been known for it’s irreverent commentary and pushing the censor’s envelope.

That was messed up, my younger twin brothers who just turned 12 were watching. It wasn’t even funny to me.

First off..no.
The Simpsons’ sole purpose is Comedy. for the past 14 seasons or so; they haven’t really had a main demographic. Long gone are the “Overachiever and Proud Of It” Bart T-Shirts; the show’s evovled.
And plus: If the kid GETS the dildo joke; THAT would be a problem….otherwise, it’s going to be too subtle for them to get.
