Obviously the Simpsons is a parady of the American family.
Lisa is the smart rational liberal. Homer is the dumb conservative who nonetheless means well. Cletus represents the typical red state voter. Montgomery Wards is the rich evil corporate Republican.
The others are not as political.
I would not say Ned Flanders is the typical christian conservative because Ned Flanders is a nice guy. He is not holier than though and always condemning other people for not having “family values”.

kirby,
Correct. I got confused with the old department store.

A little biased answer above… isn’t it Montgomery Burns?
As an English teacher I would recommend first finding 4-5 examples from the show. Then form a hypothesis of what they indicate – make that hypothesis your topic sentence and expand on it in your opening paragraph.
Make your three body paragraphs detailed expansions on your examples – you can put more than one example per paragraph if they match up to your point/details.
Then close with a paragraph summarizing your examples with the hypothesis and make a conclusion at the end that states your analysis.
If you have to write more than 5 paragraphs then just expand the formula above.

kirby, it isn’t biased to call Burns rich (he owns a nuclear power plant and lives in a mansion), evil (he once had a plan to block out the sun), or Republican (several episodes show Burns as a prominent member of the RNC). If you were more familiar with the show, you would know that.
