Coldplay go yellow for Simpsons
Coldplay are to make a guest appearance in The Simpsons. Yellow singers Chris Martin and the rest of his band will appear in an episode in the 20th anniversary series, which begins in September, the Sun reports, when Homer invites the band to his house in Springfield after he wins the lottery and starts splashing out on luxuries.

When Marge learns Springfield Elementary is the worst school in the state, she rents an apartment in the upscale Waverly Hills school district so Bart and Lisa can attend a better school. Meanwhile, Homer moves into the rented Waverly Hills apartment and gets used to the bachelor lifestyle.
The Simpsons Try Curling
Homer and Marge will visit Canada to enter the winter olympics this year in the upcoming 21st season of The Simpsons.
One of the show’s writers, Rob LaZebnik, has revealed the storyline will revolve around the formation of a mixed-doubles team including Principal Skinner and his mother.
Marge, as it turns out, is a natural at the sport, having swept a broom around the house for years on end, but Homer threatens to bring the team down. Meanwhile, Lisa spends her time trying to collect a series of Olympic pins.
Rick Patzke, the chief operating officer for USA Curling, and Edmonton curler Randy Ferbey have both commented on the upcoming show, agreeing that it can only bring a wave of good publicity to a sport that isn’t watched nearly as often as hockey, skiing or figure skating. As well, said Patzke, Homer is the quintessential curler in that he drinks beer, eats doughnuts and makes fun of himself.

Aftermath: Futurama at Comic Con
In a disappointing turn of events, the Futurama panel at Comic Con yesterday did nothing to curb fans’ fears concerning the future of the show and it’s original voice cast.
The voice cast were not present at the panel; however, showrunners Matt Groening and David X. Cohen were present, accompanied by writers and animators. Hypotoad was present to tell the audience to ignore the voice actors’ absence.
Both Matt and David adressed the issue; Matt said: “We love our ‘Futurama’ actors. We hope that Fox and the actors can come to an agreement as soon as possible.”; “Keep your fingers crossed. What’s going on right now is business” said David.
The good news, however, is that plenty of new information regarding the new season beginning next year was revealed.
The origins of Scruffy, the janitor will be revealed; Twitter will feature in an episode, controlled by Mom; Bender and Amy will get together, bringing up a robosexual marriage debate; The Professor and Fry find a time machine and end up in a very distant future; the reasons behind why the Professor hired Zoidberg will be revealed; Fry and Leela will be more romantic; Leela and Zapp will be together on an isolated planet; and a new Anthology of Interest episode is in the works.
A Futurama film for the big screen is also something Matt would love to do: “We’d love to do a Futurama theatrical feature, It’s really fun to see Futurama on the big screen”.
Simpsons Comic Con 2009 Rundown
Matt Groening and the rest of the Simpsons cast got quite a surprise today at their Comic Con panel when a representative from the Guinness Book of World Records appeared on stage. He announced that The Simpsons is now the longest running sitcom in the world, displacing The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet which had 435 episodes. It was also announced that they now have the Guinness for the most Emmy’s for a single show, and the show was selected by Guinness readers as one of the top 100 records of the decade.
Among other news revealed today at Comic Con were confirmations of next season’s major guest stars, including Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, The Smothers Brothers and The Manning Brothers, Anne Hathaway, Eartha Kitt, and Gary Larson (creator of The Far Side).
IGN has also posted exclusive information about Treehouse Of Horror XX, the season premiere, and this year’s Christmas episode which may be filmed in 3D. Head over there to read their announcements from today’s event.
